“I’ve finished the eye and I’m up on my ear”: A Female Medical Student’s Life
When students registered and paid their fees at Woman’s Medical College, they were handed matriculation tickets, allowing them entrance to the classes listed on the back. The matriculation tickets were given out at the beginning of each term. Individual lectures and clinics often had attendance tickets, which were used to keep track of a student’s attendance. Report cards also were printed on tickets, although often no grades would be listed – just whether the student passed.
Much like the student schedules online or printed from a computer today, the matriculation card is a record of the classes Laura Heath Hills took.
