Photographs showing Woman's Med students around the College.

Why It Matters

Although much has changed for a student since the 1890s, much has also stayed the same. Students still sit through lectures and take notes, go on field trips or participate in internships, and read and post news about their school, courses, or housing opportunities.

Analyze this evidence

  • These photographs show the students at Woman’s Medical College both in and out of the classroom. What sort of activities do the students seem to be engaged in? Are the activities similar to anything you do at school?
  • What kind of information might be posted on the bulletin board the two women are reading? Where do you find news about what is happening at school?
