Eliza Grier and Matilda Evans: Two Women, Two Paths
The Woman’s Medical College of Pennsylvania (WMCP) was founded in Philadelphia in 1850, and was the first and for many years, the only, medical school in the world exclusively for women. The WMCP faculty minute books provide insight into both daily and long-term issues, concerns, decision-making, and activities of the faculty, as well as information about the College’s internal operations, its students, and its curricula.
Pages 46-47 of these meeting notes show student rankings for the Woman's Medical College of Pennsylvania, class of 1897, which included Eliza Grier and Matilda Evans.
